In 2019 the membership of ATU Canada passed a bylaw to establish an “Equity and Inclusion Committee” to address and remedy discrimination within our union and workplace and to promote leadership, equality and inclusion from women, people of colour, sexual and gender minorities and others experiencing marginalization.
This committee will be arm’s length and have representative delegate status at ATU Canada conventions. On Thursday, January 20th 2022 at 8PM EST we held our first meeting and elected our three co-chairs: Michelle Clarke (ATU 1572), Emily Groom (ATU 107) and Raj Brar (ATU 569). Congratulations!
Members at large do not need to be from an equity seeking group, but the three vice chairs do. Please consider standing for election.
