Join the Equity and Inclusion Committee!

In 2019, the membership of ATU Canada passed a bylaw to establish the Equity and Inclusion Committee, dedicated to addressing and remedying discrimination within our union and workplaces. This committee promotes leadership, equality, and inclusion for women, people of colour, sexual and gender minorities, and others experiencing marginalization.

Operating at arm’s length, the committee holds representative delegate status at ATU Canada conventions, ensuring its voice is heard at the highest levels. Our first meeting was held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, where we proudly elected our three co-chairs.

While members-at-large do not need to be from an equity-seeking group, the three vice-chair positions are reserved for those who are. We encourage all eligible members to consider standing for election and helping shape the future of equity and inclusion in our union.
