Eric Tuck

ATU Local 107 - Hamilton, ON

Eric Tuck has been a steadfast advocate for transit workers and communities throughout his career. He has served as President of ATU Local 107 in Hamilton since 2014 and as Vice President of ATU Canada since 2018, now in his third term.

Eric began his career in transit in August 1988 as a bus operator with Hamilton Street Railway, a role he continues to hold today. His leadership within the union spans decades, having served as Vice President of Local 107 from 1999 to 2001 and again from 2005 to 2014. He was also an active member of the Local’s Health and Safety Committee from 1993 to 1999.

Beyond his work in the labour movement, Eric has been deeply involved in community activism. He served on the Hamilton East NDP Executive Board from 1980 to 1986, was President of Greenhill Housing Corp from 1986 to 1988, and chaired the United Way of Hamilton/Burlington from 1988 to 1990. His dedication to advocacy was recognized with the Hamilton District Labour Council’s Lifetime Activist Award in 2001-2002.

As a father, grandfather, and lifelong activist, Eric remains committed to building a better future. Whether advocating for fair wages, workplace safety, environmental protections, or human rights, he continues to be a passionate champion for workers and communities alike.
