
Darcy Pederson
Local 615 – Saskatoon, SK
Darcy Pederson is the President of ATU Local 615 in Saskatoon, SK, and has been a proud ATU member for 21 years. He began as an accessible bus operator at Access Transit before transitioning to conventional transit, where he still operates today while serving as Local President. Since 2014, he has also worked as a relief Driving Instructor.
His union involvement started on his first day at Access Transit when he was encouraged to step up as the Access Transit Executive Board Representative. That moment sparked a lifelong commitment to union leadership. He served three years in that role, followed by three years as the Conventional Operations Representative. He then spent nine years as Financial Secretary, six of which he also served as Chief Shop Steward. For the past six years, he has been the President and Business Agent of Local 615.
Darcy has also served on the ATU Canada Executive Board since 2020 when he was appointed mid-term, and was subsequently elected in 2021 and again in 2024. He actively advocates for transit workers nationwide, lobbying all levels of government for improved working conditions and transit services. His leadership remains rooted in a passion for worker advocacy and ensuring transit employees have a strong voice.
